Heroes
Relics of Childhood by Lenore--Nathan/Peter--Takes place during Peter's time in hiding, and sees him develop Matt's power. Peter's voice in this is so strong in this story that it feels very real. NC-17
Not The Man by mandysbitch--Nathan/Peter--Nathan knows what buttons to press to get what he wants, but with Peter there's always a price to pay. NC-17 Nathan went to the movies with his friends. That evening, while Nathan was gone, Peter crawled from one side of the rug to the other. Nathan spent the next day trying to get Peter to do it again. He waved Peter's favourite toy in front of him, stood on the other side of the rug and tried to entice Peter with a cookie. Peter stubbornly refused to do anything but lie on his stomach and watch Nathan with round eyes.
Traces by mosca--Hiro/Ando--My favorite loveable geeks remain my Heroes OTP despite the alluring pull of the Brothers Petrelli, and this fic made me happy. Hiro takes a peek into the future. PG He was pretty sure, by this point, that not all of the futures he visited were the same. They were probable but only possibilities. He hoped to someday be powerful enough to visit realities far from his own where history had happened differently, but for now, he was content with the certain past and the likely future. He was seeing the most important things.
Stepped Out of a Stranger by Lin--Nathan/Peter--This story takes place after the bomb goes off. Peter survives, and he and Nathan use Isaac's paintings to continue the fight. NC-17 They took a prop plane to Jackson Hole, and as it bucked and shivered in the crosswinds on both the ascent and the descent, Nathan wished he could have flown a different way. Or not at all. Peter was still determined to take on this quest, but if they couldn’t get to Cody for another few days, maybe he’d be willing to give up.
A Game For Fools by eponis--Nathan/Peter--Well. This has incest and genderfuck and h/c. How many more kinks can you get? It's great, though. Really well thought out and unique.I love Peter in this story. NC-17 Probably just another campaign aide infatuated with power, he finally concludes, but gives her another quick once-over. She's got gorgeous cock-sucking lips. Bemused, and too busy to contemplate that kind of diversion, Nathan shakes her hand and shows her out the door. It's a week before he even has cause to think about Anna again.
X Will Mark the Place Like a Parting of the Waves by hackthis--Nathan/Peter--A captivating AU wherein Peter and Nathan are identical twins. R Peter will tell you that Nathan is the smarter twin, but then again, Peter is more modest. Nathan says this is because of Peter's stupid martyr complex; he wishes Peter were more assertive. Nathan wishes -- well, whatever Nathan wishes, it never stops him from cleaning up Peter's scrapes, tidying up his messes, and making whatever Peter wants come to fruition.
The Man Who Told Everything by hackthis--Peter, Nathan, Hiro gen--Peter walks in on a conversation between Nathan and Hiro and then gets a repeat visit from a friend. "Peter Petrelli!" Hiro's chair topples over onto the floor when he jumps up, and just like that Peter goes from irritated to confused to encased by five-foot-six of excited Japanese man.
Five Facts Ando Learned as Part of His Epic Quest to Help Save the World (and Possibly a Cheerleader or Two) by sparky77--Ando gen--I like this look at the relationship between Ando and Hiro and Nathan and Peter through Ando's eyes. PG He doesn’t know what it’s like to have a younger brother to watch out for, though sometimes he thinks that Hiro is like a younger brother to him, a really annoying one who nevers shuts up and that he would sometimes love to get rid of, but would also do anything to protect. When he thinks like that he can almost understand Nathan Petrelli, but he doesn’t think he’ll ever fully understand the relationship between the two brothers.
Your Young Men Shall See Visions by linaerys--Peter/Nathan--This story is pre-series and takes place when Peter goes away to college. There's lots of foreshadowing of their powers, but this story is mostly about Nathan looking after Peter and Peter growing up and becoming his own person. Light NC-17 Peter walked back up the concrete stairs to his room, which seemed smaller and dimmer without Nathan in it, and Peter felt flattered, again, that Nathan had taken time out from work to move him in. Their father wouldn’t have done that. Nathan moved into college and law school on his own, except for some hired movers, and had never even mentioned what it had felt like, alone in a new place, without a friendly face to see him off.
Bones
Got Your Back by volatile--Booth/Brennan--Bones watches some buddy flicks and gets a bit carried away. It's very endearingly Bones, just like Booth's guilt is frustratingly him. PG-13 ‘But…’ she’s a little quieter than usual, but that amazing clarity and purpose was still there, ‘But I… had your back.’
Hit the Ground by Fialka--Booth/Brennan--Takes place sometime after Judas on a Pole, with a great Booth voice as he tries to deny and then rationalize his feelings for Bones. R Keenan told him to take care of her, and Booth hates how the bastard suddenly stopped being who he really was (fugitive, bank robber, homicidal sociopath) and became Matt Brennan, the father Bones still loves. The nice middle-class daddy giving his precious baby girl into the hands of another man. He hates the idea that Keenan, in his stolen priest's garb, has somehow bound them together in the eyes of God, given his blessing to a ceremony performed without their knowledge or consent.
On Ice by Dira Sudis--Booth/Brennan--Pure, ice skating fluff. It's good to see Bones have a little fun. "I just didn't. It's not like someone straps you into skates at the city limits." She remembered Russ going, though, even watching Russ sometimes--she'd just never done it herself. She'd always been awkward and never wanted to try in front of so many strangers when she was sure to fall and embarrass herself. "It's not like there's any point to knowing how. As a mode of transportation, it's--"
Show and Tell by Dira Sudis--Booth/Brennan--Bones lets herself be naked in front of Booth for the first time. Booth shook his head, still smiling. "I was just thinking," he muttered, and he reached out one hand and tapped her forehead with his fingertip. His hand was warm and smelled distractingly like sex--like her. As he took his hand away, Booth said, "I finally got all your clothes off you, but I still can't see you naked."
The Necklace by ygrawn--Booth/Brennan--I like the idea that they have a secret between them, something that no one else knows about. I also like the way that Booth can read Bones and can predict her reaction to things. PG-13 He knows Brennan well enough to know she’ll be completely confused by the gift and will matter-of-factly point out that is neither Christmas nor her birthday so there must be an ulterior motive behind his present, and Booth will get annoyed at her tendency towards scepticism and cynicism and be irritated by her suggestion that he might try to buy her acquiescence, and they’ll have a spat that will only end when Booth threatens to retract the gift if she’s going to be so ungracious about it, but Brennan will curtly shake her head and tighten her grip on it.
Punch Drunk Love by plasticeneposes--Angela/Hodgins--The evolution of Hodgins' relationship with Angela told to the backdrop of the annual Jeffersonian Christmas party. R Hodgins finds himself watching her; studying the graceful way she twists and turns to face her companions, the fall of her hair against her shoulders, and her wild, excited gestures. Angela Montenegro is a breath of fresh, Patchouli-scented air to the Jeffersonian Institute, and it's clear tonight that his colleagues agree with him.
Criminal Minds
After The Fall by why_me_why_not--Reid/Morgan--Morgan sits in the hospital and waits, post-Revelations. PG "I said, you will let me know if you need anything? Or if there's anything I can do for Spencer?" When Reid had been in Chicago helping to clear Morgan of murder, Morgan's mother had taking a liking to Reid. She made a point to ask about him each time Morgan called and had told him more than once since then that he needed to bring Reid back for a visit because "that boy's too skinny and needs a few good, home-cooked meals."
Smiling Eyes by goddess_of_7s--Reid/Morgan--This story is short and adorable. I can totally see Reid doing this. Morgan was whistling tunelessly when there was a pounding on the door and Reid came rushing in shirt unbuttoned and hair still wild from being unbrushed. Morgan stuck his head out of the shower and promptly had a phone shoved in his face. “Quick whenever they get on say when Irish eyes are smiling.”
Cursed
Nothing Hurts Like Your Mouth by quarterturn--Jimmy/Bo--After the events of the movie, Jimmy pushes Bo away and acts generally miserable. PG-13 “Look, Bo, you were kicking my ass last week, it's a little weird that you're trying to get a piece of it now,” Jimmy says, and he realizes it's the most boneheaded and insensitive thing he could possibly say, ever, in the history of dumb things he's said, but he doesn't take it back because he's stressed and angry and traumatized, and Bo of all people should know that.
Distracted by Ozsaur--Jimmy/Bo--Post-movie, Jimmy finds himself very distracted by Bo. "Suit yourself." Two long fingers dipped into the yellow bag, and snagged a green M&M. Popping it into his mouth, Bo crunched loud enough to make Jimmy grit his teeth. He kept forgetting that Bo was good at not taking a hint when he didn't want to. Jimmy glanced up at the perfectly innocent blue sky and sighed.
Fairy is Wolf's Clothing: A Cautionary Tale by packmentality--Jimmy/Bo--While some of Jimmy's powers are fun, he's finding certain ones...difficult. "Fine," he says. "Can you just, I don't know...stop being attracted to me for a while?"
Torchwood
Lost and Found by Kaneko--Jack/Ianto, past Ianto/Lisa--This is Ianto's life in interweaving vignettes that are lyrical and beautiful. I love the characterization of pre-cyber Lisa. The first time Lisa kissed him, they were in the middle of the Torchwood dining hall. Ianto was holding a tray with the remains of his lunch.she can drive as fast as me but she stops at all the lights by minervacat--Jack/Vala Mal Doran, Vala/Daniel--Crossover with Stargate SG-1. The three times Jack and Vala meet. I especially love the last time, which takes place in current time, Jack with the Torchwood crew and Vala with Daniel. There's a bit of time trickery, a bit of heroics, a lot of sex, and charisma the way only these two could manage. It's criminal that Jack and Vala will never be on screen together. I guess that's what fanfic's for. NC-17 "I thought this was just a stopover until I could steal another ride," she said. "Didn't know this sort of excitement was in the works."
Once Upon A Time by cosmic--Jack/Ianto, Jack/everyone--The story of Jack's life, told in breathtakingly lovely fragments. PG Jack doesn't say, you have no idea how much I want to do just that. He doesn't beat the Doctor to a pulp for crimes not yet committed either. Instead, he shakes his head, touches the Doctor on the shoulder, and says: "See you later."
The Discovery by Kaneko--Jack/Ianto--Jack reveals more of his past to Ianto and shows him something impossible. I like Ianto's reaction to all of the secrets being handed to him. Ianto finished his chocolate and wiped his fingers carefully on a damp handkerchief. When he shifted his weight, the mud under him resisted glueily. He shuddered. "What do you think it is?" he said - more to break the silence than anything else, to change the expression on Jack's face.
In The Mood by Lady Paperclip--Jack/everyone--Jack likes to indulge in a little holiday fun. Reminds me pleasantly of the adorably lascivious Jack from Doctor Who, before the angst ate his brain. Ianto closes his eyes. “Tell me the worst,” he says, steeling himself. And Tosh says the five words he was hoping that she’d never say. “He’s got hold of mistletoe."
Moving On by Frock--Tosh/Ianto--These two are my favorite characters on the show, so the thought of them together really works for me. I like that while Gwen and Owen are angsting all over the place in the foreground, Ianto and Tosh are in the background just doing their jobs and keeping their problems to themselves. PG Ianto looks up, midway through dialling the phone. ‘I gather a certain medic around here prefers the waif-look.’
Sun in the Sky by giddygeek--Ianto/Jack--This is a long look inside Ianto's head and his state of mind after "Cyberwoman" and runs through "Greeks Bearing Gifts." It's a lyrical, moving story, and I think that Jack and Tosh's voices and reactions to Ianto are perfect. R Jack frowns at Owen over Ianto's head as his hands shift, fingers gentling but spreading wide over Ianto's shoulders. "He can stay here. There are beds, there's food; he even has a spare suit or three stashed away in case of emergency."
Quantum is just a fancy word for "hell if I know" by lyra_wing--Jack/Ianto--It's fun to see Jack back to his flirty ways as he chases Ianto and Ianto plays hard to get. NC-17 It was a damn good question. If it had been anyone else, Jack probably would've. But... it was Ianto. Jack smiled wider. "I don't know," he admitted. "You make decent coffee. You fill out a suit nicely. Lot of reasons." He let go of Ianto's wrist.
For When It's Dark by giddygeek--Jack/Ianto--Jack and Ianto get a little lost in the underbelly of the Hub and have some interesting conversation. No rating. Ianto takes stock. Really, the headache isn't so bad. Nothing else hurts particularly. There's only one area of concern. "Have I gone blind, sir, or is it dark?"
